Seriously, the piston is probably frozen in the caliper bore. Take the caliper off, use compressed air to force out the piston, and check both it and the caliper body for rust and/or pitting. If the rubber seal around the caliper piston goes out, it doesn't take long for the caliper to seize up.
Or, you could be "lucky", and the rotor is worn down too thin for the pads to make contact. Either way, check it out.
